Selling I am a lvl 18 Mage and having difficulty soloing...

I am a lvl 18 Mage and having difficulty soloing anything that is my level. Any advice or is this my lot in life?

 

im soloing everything w my mage.Just do full fire talents putting points in shockwave fire barage ,the spell which crits on burn and freezes on chill. and dont pull many mobs

 

once you have 3/3 fire barrage... You can kill mobs in groups as big as you want. Just put points in fire to fire barrage and next in ice points to upgraded frost blast

 

it doesn't work like that....... for the beginning go with frost slow the enemy down and kill him with fireball or frost bolt... work your way up to permafrost and put the rest in fire. Your crit is too low to be effective with barrage at that lvl and there is no such thing as 3/3 fire barrage. Also upgrade cyclone as its 100% freeze chance and 100% crit chance when the mob is on fire and chilled. once you get perma its easy lvling to 60

i never had any problems with groups of mobs, always can solo a big group. But until level 25 +- it's hard. After you finished swamp it's so easy

 

sorry mate... hate to burst your bubble but thats not a good build.. thats it from me not gonna say anymore but looks like you are a new mage as well..

yes but gear doesn't mean love you these days.. t2 and staff can be farmed in a day when boss glitch was there... lava upgrade with no effort duping. The fact you put points in sleep and resist silence says it all really. Michael VanderMeer experiment with all talents and see what works well.. the classic hybrid mage uses permafrost with barrage.. but that's old skool.

 

i used to lvl my mage w full fire and frost blast w the freeze that i took way late(round lv 45)

 

yes i didnt mean that pic. i mean a pic from a month or so ago. The reason i didn't put more points in ice is: how more points you put in ice, the lower your damage will be. It's a fact that fire build does more damage as ice builds. Ice build are good for slow etc but nothing more

 

yes but we talk about lvling and mana efficiency... once you have perma you can round up about 7/8 mobs shove perma on the floor forst nova them and shokwave or barrage a few times they are all dead.. finished. Once you have perma everything is easy. Also perma plus frost nova = 100% slowdown meaning you can perma nova and sip a mojito while the mobs die and you collect xD

 

True, but perma isn't necessarily for that. Frost blast is already enough. And with wind walker, later in fire spell tree mobs don't hit you. Just do wind walker, collect mobs, frost blast, ( few freezed, others slowed)

 

and then barrage and shockwave them

 

= no mana

 

Yes that's true, you need to eat after each group of mobs haha. But imho that worked best for me... But everyone his own way)

 

this old school method used to work in dugeons too before they took the knockdown out of barrage... I could gather an entire instance (legendary) of mobs lay perma on the floor and barrage them to death. Good times.
