-Things To Consider When Creating An Upwork Account
In creating an account, writing a good profile is the most important part. The title, overview, work experience, education, and an hourly rate should be consistent and appropriate for a US citizen.
The address and phone number should be based owner's real information.
In a summary or an overview section, no contact information(phone number, email, skype, social network, etc) should be included or else it won't be approved.
We will provide relevant information on the title, overview, hourly rate that match our skills.
- The Upwork Account Approval Process
At the time of winning the first project or finish working on the first project, you will receive a message from Upwork Support Team notifying you to follow 2 steps to get your account fully approved during which it will be temporarily put on hold.
The two steps you need to go through for getting an account fully approved would be:
1. Uploading scanned photo of a valid ID CARD(could be either government-issued National ID Card, Passport or a Driving License.) and Bill Statement with your address included(could be Bank Statement, Utility Bill or any other Bill Statement that has your address)
2. Video Verification Process when you receive a request from Upwork Support Team. They will ask you basic information included in your profile like name, address, major skills, and in some cases, they ask you to hold your ID Card next to your face. The whole process won't take more than 10 minutes. After this process, the account will be fully approved and you will earn a badge showing the account is identity verified.
- Once the account is fully approved, winning big projects and long-term clients get easier.
From my experience, it's hard to get into Upwork, but once we get in, it gets easier as we move on.
Even after the account is approved, it might get suspended for some reason (i.e. the IP address is different from the previous log in or loggin in with more than two different IPs at the same time) and ask you to verify your account again.
- Other things I might need your help for would-be regarding the following situations.
Clients coming from the US tend to ask video call when awarding projects to the freelancer. In this case, you would just have a general video chat: the rest of the interview including the tech part will be done by my team.
Once the Upwork account is approved, we also need to create an email and skype account for the project management that we can both use.
Additionally, I can earn about 2.5k after the first month, per monthly.
I would like to discuss about your up-work account with you via chat.
Best RegardsInteract
