Over the weekend, we initiated the process to ban players who have altered game files in order to get unreleased content and Season Pass content without proper authorization. This is against the Rainbow Six Siege Code of Conduct for running a modified version of the game.
From now on, when a player attempts to alter the game files in any way they will receive a permanent ban as previously outlined in our Code of Conduct. If you have more questions about this, please contact Ubisoft Support.
From UbiJustin's announcement on the R6 Reddit, it seems like we finally have an official reason on why many of us got banned (which is what most of us already expected). This also means that if you were banned from the 2 huge waves that happened during the weekend, the season pass is probably the reason why. However, if you happened to have been banned AFTER the ban waves (especially during or immediately after playing a match), the most likely reason would be that you have been using a macro or a blacklisted .exe file.

Also, another quote from UbiJustin from the same reddit thread:

If you use a macro, you will be banned.
This is leading me to believe that they must have a blacklist of AHKs/AHK .exe's that BE will insta-ban when detected running in the background. For now, it doesn't seem like it would be safe using any of the more known public/easily obtainable paid macros that are floating around, however, my alt hasn't been banned yet for using a personally modified macro, so there still might be hope in that.
